Our Grade 3 children will be doing a guided tour in the beautiful Babylonstoren mushroom room and shaded garden. During Nature Study this term, the children will be studying different forms of fungi whilst discovering it’s various purposes. During the mushroom tour, they will discover more about the functions and uses of fungi in their gardens, and how fungi fulfils a vital role in our diverse ecosystem, from plant health to insect and pathogen biocontrol.
The mushroom room provides demonstrations on how to cultivate different types of mushrooms. In addition, our children will also have an opportunity to observe the wonderful world of bees by visiting Babylonstoren’s beehive collection. The day promises to be thoroughly enjoyable.
